Speedy-por-rean

Yesterday micky asked me why I walk so slowly and I reply her that I don’t want to miss anything that happen around me and this remind me of a news report that I read last year, if I don’t remember wrongly.

Base on UK research

Researchers in the UK have discovered that Singaporeans have the fastest walking speed amongst 32 international cities. According to this research the “Singapore shuffle” is officially a myth. The researchers timed how long it took 35 men and women to walk along a 60ft stretch of pavement and the 10 fastest walking times were:

1) Singapore (Singapore); 10.552)
2)Copenhagen (Denmark); 10.823)
3)Madrid (Spain); 10.894)
4)Guangzhou (China): 10.945)
5)Dublin (Ireland); 11.036)
6)Curitiba (Brazil); 11.137)
7)Berlin (Germany); 11.168)
8)New York (US); 12.009)
9)Utrecht (Netherlands); 12.0410)
10)Vienna (Austria); 12.06

Maybe a lot of you didn’t realize that we are walking to fast in life that we misses a lot of great thing that is happening around us, this include neglecting people around you.

Last year October, Joshua shared his problem with me and this is how I reply him.

“All of us are walking too fast in pace that we tend to overlook a lot of things that is happening around us. When tend to listen less to people around, we tend to see less things around, we tend to be impatient and as time goes by, we are the central self and only YOU yourself is the most important of all and not others. The heart of door eventually closes up and nobody get to step in no more. It only when we slow down our foot step, then we are able to view things more clearly, able to listen to others with more patience, everything in us is much more down to earth.”

Tips for the day: For every single foot step you take is a new adventure to the next great beginning.

Below is one of the reader comments from the reference website. Do read if you are interested.

LOL!! why are we rushing arh …so easy we jump queue, rush to be first on bus or train during rush hour, get food at canteen first, get special offer, always sleep late play games, hang out or do work and next day cant wake up in time for work or school then rush like mad. Late for work too many times pay cut and warning, late for school prefects write your name down some giving you the sucky attitude then need to have punishments during recess time or after school. Rush to your car because you forgot to put the parking coupon scared of being fined by carpark officers. Rush to smoke a few sticks of cigarettes during your toilet break or get a cup of coffee and buy a can of drink. We rush…we rush then even when there is nothing to do we still rush, play mahjong also fast. Play pool also rush scared waste time then need to pay more. At home dont relax, must do housework then must also do fast, eat fast, sleep fast, dream fast…then finally we do the same cycle again everyday 365 days without much changes and we die without knowing why we were rushing that badly for… to reincarnate? XD There you have it a rough summary of what most singaporeans do and why they are probably rushing for…cos im one of those singaporean high speed rushers with modified nitros at the heels of my feet reminds me of ants LOL!!

The power of forgiving ; 1:53 PM

The power of forgiving

Finally, I’m back sitting to my study table once again after school had reopened. Oh god, I’m table is in a mess but what caught my attention is those small notes that I paste on my table top. I like to write words of advice onto a small piece of paper and paste on my table top whenever it strikes my mind and I’m looking through now again.

Today I’m going to share one of my notes that I wrote it last year.

“学会接受别人的道歉也就等于给他人一个机会改变自己”

“One who’s willing to accept others apologies, is one who’s also willing to give others a chance for a change in their mistake.”

It doesn’t cost any for a single word like sorry, thank you; please forgive me or whatever but it does carry a deep meaning, responsibility and a sense of appreciation in all words like this.

When words like this come out from your mouth, how much sincerity there is, the one who is receiving are able to weight it, whether you mean what you say or just for the sake of saying?

Even though all this words doesn’t require a single cents but the interesting thing is that, there are people who just can’t say it whenever they made a mistake. So they repay by giving money, gift or helps that are needed. But But But, that may not be the suffering party who want it, what they need isn’t all this.

It a sincere apologies instead.

A sincere apology may dissolve a deep hatred, a deep anger. A sincere thank you may worth more than a single bar of gold. What important is, are you willing to accept and forgive their apologies? Which make another different for those whose in fault, are they able to step out their guilt or not? It all depends.

Forgiving others is a great power for those who made a mistake, you are able to control whether to keep the guilt in them or not. Guilt is able to kill life or depress for the whole life and some rather to torture those in fault to repay by guilt. How scary it can be?

Forgiving others is a great power for those who made a mistake, you are able to renew their life and pull them out of darkness and guilt. World is full of hopes and colour, it a brand new them again. How merciful it can be?

Be GENEROUS in your words of praise and comfort because all this make up a thumb up life for others. SMILE because of love.

A song with no sound ; 10:18 PM

A song with no sound

Hi there! When you plan to die?

OH?!?!

Have question like this come across you?

I just completed my 3 weeks attachment and I have been quite emotional working and learning down there at NUH. Patients there were really nice and I had a great time with them, chatting, nursing, and taking care of them.

I also had two patients that leave me, leave their family and leave the world. Too much of a sudden for me, simply stunned.

A song with no sound is as good as nothing. A body with no soul is as good as a doll; a living person with no physical reaction is as good as dying.

There is this staff nurse ask me “If you will to be a patient like that, alive yet not moving, not talking, no emotional reaction, how would you feel?”

“I might as well go die.”

3 weeks down the road, a lot of the patients that I had taken care of told me one common advice “Don’t be like me.”

So what kind of precaution I should take to avoid all this illnesses? Cutting of leg, lung infection, poor oral feeding, mental problem, dengue fever, paralyze, dementia.

The answer is I don’t know.

Before all this happen to me, I might as well treasure my time.

一首没有音乐的歌,就好比没有了起伏,没有了动力。

一首没有声音的歌,就好比没有了光彩,没有了旋律。

一首没有歌词的歌,就好比没有了灵魂,没有了生命。

You are like the music in me that make up a song for my life :D ~blur~ 10.10 Whee

Happy children day ; 12:25 AM

Happy children day

每个孩子都是个天使。。。

Oh my, this is going to be a belated children day post. Had just celebrated children day celebration with my kids and and and this is the first time I receive card self made by my kids! GOSH! It really sweet of them and touching, upon receiving those cards, I felt that all effort and time spend on them is all WORTH.

I borrow a book from my zone leader, it call “Appreciation Education” talking about how this father in China bring up his deaf daughter into a American certified Professor and got lots of award in China and in world record.

I have been chiong-ing this book because it really inspire me a lot a lot. Learning should be fun like a game, how to play with learning, it all fully rule by us.

Children, they are just like a sponge and able to absorb large amount of knowledge so as parent as teacher, we shouldn’t be just teaching them, throwing them all information that they should need but to nurture them as one who enjoy learning, if there is one day your children tell you that they want to learn rather than playing toys. I think you succeeded.

Which parent don’t wish their own child to become a dragon and phoenixes? Even I do.

But before all this, what have the parent done? Pumping money into children education? Squeezing 24/7 of your children time into tuition and extra curriculum? If you think that the ways then go ahead.

There are no stupid children, but lazy children. There are no lousy children, only lousy parent.

Every child deserves an enjoyable childhood, don’t bury their lovely smile.

每一个天使的笑容,都是对做父母的成就。每一个天使的成就,都是对世界的一份供献。

因为每个父母都是孩子们生命中的第一个老师,就凭这点,每个父母都是伟大的教育家。
